« Disco, I’m Coming Out »
The Exhibition That Gets You Dancing at the Philharmonie de Paris
Until August 17, 2025, the Philharmonie de Paris invites you onto the dance floor with “Disco, I’m Coming Out”, the most vibrant exhibition of the moment. More than just a tribute to glitter balls, this retrospective explores the cultural, social, and political roots of disco, born in the New York club scene of the 1970s.
Through photographs, video archives, costumes, vinyl records, artworks, and immersive installations, the exhibition dives into the world of this vibrant and activist music, championed by Black, Latino, and LGBTQ+ communities — a powerful vehicle for liberation, diversity, and collective joy.
From divas to DJs, from underground clubs to the global stage, disco transformed popular culture. A spectacular scenography and a playlist curated by Dimitri From Paris guide you through the experience — it’s impossible not to dance a little along the way!
To get there from Hôtel Elysée Montmartre, take Line 2 from Anvers toward Nation. Transfer at Barbès-Rochechouart, then take Line 5 toward Bobigny. Get off at Porte de Pantin (Philharmonie exit).
