Rue Crémieux
During your stay at Hôtel Élysée Montmartre, don’t miss the chance to discover one of the most surprising streets in Paris: rue Crémieux. Located in the 12th arrondissement, near Gare de Lyon, this small pedestrian street draws visitors every day thanks to its colorful façades and peaceful, almost timeless atmosphere. Only 144 meters long, it’s lined with charming individual houses painted in pastel shades, some adorned with murals or climbing plants. Each façade has its own personality, giving the street a cinematic feel.
Very popular on social media, rue Crémieux has become a favorite photo spot in Paris. However, local residents have recently asked for more privacy, so we recommend visiting on a weekday and avoiding peak hours, to truly enjoy the calm and charm of the place while respecting the neighborhood.
Getting there from Hôtel Élysée Montmartre is easy. Take metro line 2 at Anvers station (just a short walk from the hotel) in the direction of Nation. At Nation, transfer to line 1 toward Château de Vincennes and get off at Gare de Lyon. Rue Crémieux is just a 5-minute walk from there, right across from the train station, between rue de Lyon and rue de Bercy.
It’s a lovely break from the hustle and bustle of Montmartre. In just a few metro stops, you can experience a completely different side of Paris, quieter, colorful, and full of charm. A unique stop to include during your stay with us.
